This entails that an event – usually of a criminal nature – took place, where the client decision makers have a vested interest in knowing if a suspected person is involved in the event.

A question asked about a specific incident (e.g., “Did you see the victim this last Monday ” or “Did you take the money from the safe?”) often has little ambiguity, so it is clear what facts provide the criterion for a truthful answer.
